Billnäs
Industrial heritage of Finland
Billnäs village (Raseborg, Southern Finland) dates back to the 17th century when an ironworks (Fiskars Billnäs Bruk) was established. Over time, other industrial facilities grew, including mills, forges, and factories. Today the ironworks no longer operates, but the buildings remain and the village has become an attaction (understated).
Billnäs is also known for its picturesque surroundings. The village attracts visitors interested in history and culture. The old industrial buildings have been repurposed for various uses, including museums, galleries, shops, and cultural events.
Billnäs’s ties with Fiskars
One of the most notable aspects of Billnäs is its association with the Fiskars Group, which was named after the nearby village of Fiskars. Fiskars, originally a separate ironworks, is renowned for its high-quality tools, cutlery, and other products.
